I think we should. The problem is tender faiths. Folk would melt down if you had white grape juice. Imagine the whole congregation convening in the fellowship hall and eating a big enough piece of bread to know you have eaten one and drinking an 8 oz serving of fruit if the vine. I’m unsure if the remedy to this. I do know we get there by baby steps.

Your last point about how the early church took the Lord’s Supper seems spot-on. Why do we stop at getting the elements right, and not insist on restoring HOW they partook of the Lord’s Supper? Would there not be value in fully restoring that practice?
